Mountain Biking
There are many miles of mountain biking singletrack available at Pocahontas for a variety of skill levels. These narrow trails feature log hops, tight turns, water crossings, and rock gardens. The park uses a ski style grading system to mark the singletrack, that is different from other trails in the park. There is one easy trail, 4 intermediate trails, one red expert trail, and one double red trail. The trails are well marked and divided into two groups. 4 older trails, still well maintained, have a trail of every difficulty. The 3 Lakeviews are all intermediate. The Lakeview trails are stacked, which means you have to ride lakeview one to get to lakeview 2, to get to lakeview 3 you have to ride lakeview 2. The lakeviews have short alternate routes that are rated expert, including a log ride. These trails are maintained by a volunteer organisation, Friends of Pocahontas aka FOPSP. A number of races occur annually in the park.
In addition to the single track, there are miles and miles of multi-use fire roads around the park. A number of fairly well-marked routes exist for visitors to follow.
Fishing
The park has a number of streams and lakes for fishing. The park also has a few fishing events and permit-free days. Expect to catch small panfish, largemouth bass,
