Rila Fukushima (福島 リラ Fukushima Rira?) is a Japanese fashion model and actress. She was born in Kyushu, Japan.

Life and career

Rila Fukushima was born in Kyushu, Japan.[1]

Originally attempting to secure a position as a model agent at a Tokyo agency, she was persuaded to try modelling instead.[2] Her career has included work for numerous labels and brands in various shows and campaigns.[3]

Fukushima also starred in the 2013 superhero film The Wolverine as Yukio[4] and in 2014, she appeared in the Taiga drama Gunshi Kanbei as Omichi.[5]

Fukushima replaced Devon Aoki in the role of Tatsu Yamashiro/Katana for the third season of The CW television show Arrow.[6] In 2015, she appeared in the HBO series Game of Thrones in Season 5 as a Red Priestess in Volantis.[7][8]

She was chosen as one of the women of the year 2013 by Vogue Japan.[9]
