Shlomit (Hebrew: שלומית‎) is a village in the Negev desert of Southern Israel, located some 700 meters from the Egyptian border. The settlement currently consists of mobile structures expected to be replaced by permanent housing. An industrial zone and educational institutions are also planned to be built there. It is currently home to about 30 families, with plan to expand to 500.[1]

The settlement is part of the Eshkol Regional Council. It was established in cooperation with the Amana Settlement Group Movement, the Ministry for the Development of the Negev and Galilee, and the Defense Ministry's settlement and national infrastructure unit.[2]

KKL-JNF Argentina is a major contributor to the development of Shlomit. [3]
