Shortepa (also Shor Tappeh, population 38,500)[2] is a small district in Balkh Province, Afghanistan. It is situated along the Amu Darya river, close to the border with Uzbekistan. The main village is Shor Tappeh (Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found.) at 274 m altitude.
