Stephen Black (born 5 April 1980) is an Australian former professional basketball player who last played for the Cairns Taipans of the NBL. He is the son of Alan Black. He is currently coaching the South West Metro Pirates in the Queensland Basketball League.[1]
Born in Melbourne, Victoria, he attended the Australian Institute of Sport between 1998-1999. [2] He made his debut for the Perth Wildcats in 1999 where he played for 5 years, then he moved to Brisbane in 2004 to play for the Brisbane Bullets to play for another 4 years. He moved to Cairns in 2008. He retired at the end of the 2009 NBL season having played 264 NBL games.[3]
