Striplin, Jr., the first basketball coach at Belmont College. It opened in 1964. It was home to the Belmont Bruins men's and women's team. Striplin Gym was demolished in 2001 to make room for its replacement, the Curb Event Center, which opened in 2003. In the time between, Belmont hosted the majority of its men's basketball games at Nashville Municipal Auditorium, but a select few, as well as the majority of the women's games, were played at Aquinas College.
