The Sultanate of Nejd (Arabic: سلطنة نجد, Salṭanat Najd) was a result of transformation of the Emirate of Riyadh by Abdul Aziz ibn Saud, who in 1921 declared himself Sultan over Nejd and its dependencies, as a monarchy led by the House of Saud.[1] In December 1925 the Kingdom of Hejaz surrendered to the forces of Abdul Aziz, who was thereafter proclaimed King of Hejaz in January 1926, becoming the ruler of the combined Kingdom of Hejaz and Sultanate of Nejd.
