The Aztec Economy is a Brooklyn-based non-profit mixed-media joint venture that conceives, develops, and trades in D.I.Y. cultural commodities such as original theater, short films, live music, visual art, happenings, chapbooks, psycho-geographical derives, and mock human sacrifice.

Its current members include Adam Belvo, Ryan Dorin, Michael Mason, Marilyn Mithra-Stone, Kalli Newman, Adam Laten Willson, Casey Wimpee, and Cole Wimpee.

Founded by former members of New York's Working Man's Clothes Productions, the group has presented performances including More Songs from the Neo-Fascists, Kansas City Book of the Dead, Bring Me The Head of John Ford, The Queen is Dead, marfa Lights, AntiGone With The Wind, Exit, Pursued by Bears, Lavaman, 9 Yodels, Ship of Fools, My Kind of Blood, National Diet of Japan, and Adventures in the OK Skin Trade.

Their work has been featured at The Brick Theater, Brooklyn Fireproof, Mary's Art House, The Bushwick Starr, Roberta's Pizza, Rock Star Bar, The Lutheran Church of the Messiah, Monkeytown, Surreal Estate, 459 Keap Courtyard in Brooklyn as well as The Ohio Theater in Soho, The Tank in Tribeca, The Peter Jay Sharpe Theater, Performance Space 122, The Steamship Lilac off the Hudson in Manhattan, and the Fridge in Washington, D.C.
