The Keep is a role-playing video game developed and published by Cinemax.
Gameplay
The game is a dungeon crawler consisted of 10 levels. Every level is a floor of Watrys's Tower. To complete a level player has to get through multiple puzzles, traps and enemies. The game features a realtime combat and player can use spells. A Spell can be done with help of Runes that player can find across levels. Different mixture of Rune makes different Spell.
Story
The game takes place in a Kingdom of Tallia. Evil Wizard Watrys is rising and ruling council doesn't pay attention to this threat. One day a village is burnt and all local childen are kidnapped by Watrys. A nameless villager then sets to a tower where Watrys resides to defeat evil and save children.
Reception
The game has received generally positive reviews from critics. Average score of reviews is 77% [1][2]
NintendoDojo gave the game 83%. It praised the gameplay and most notably combat system. Another praise was for challenging difficulty and puzzle. On the other hand, it criticised a lack of automatic save feature and level design as every room looks the same.[3]
Another review came from RPG Fan. This review marked the game as a miniature clone of Legend of Grimrock but rated it pretty positively as it gave 70%.[4]

Sequel
The developer announced during GDS 2014 that the sequel The Keep 2 is in pre-production phase of development. More details were set to be revealed in 2015.[5]
