Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot (born May 9, 1995) is a French professional basketball player who plays for Mega Leks of the Serbian League.
Club career
Luwawu played with Olympique Antibes from 2012 until 2015. In the 2014–15 season he played with Antibes in LNB Pro B (who had previously played there in Luwawu's first two years before being promoted to the LNB Pro A for one season) and averaged 6.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists. He helped the team win the Pro B Leaders Cup.[1] In February 2015, he announced that he planned on entering the 2015 NBA draft,[2] but eventually wasn't part of it.
On July 5, 2015, he signed a contract with the Serbian team Mega Leks.[3] During this time in Serbia, he helped become a major part in winning the Serbian Cup, as well as making it to the All-Adriatic League Team. On April 11, 2016, it was announced Luwawu would participate in the 2016 NBA Draft, alongside his teammates Ivica Zubac, Rade Zagorac, Ognjen Jaramaz, and fellow Frenchman Alpha Kaba. Because he had already previously expressed his desires on entering the NBA Draft in 2015, he cannot back out once again this year.
International career
Luwawu was member of France in youth international events:[4] He played at the 2014[5] and 2015 U20 European Championships. In 2015, he helped the French team to a semifinal appearance, while averaging 11.6 points and 4.9 rebounds a contest during the tournament,[6] earning All-Tournament Honorable Mention status by Eurobasket.com.[7]
