Tom Fritsche (born September 30, 1986 in Parma, Ohio) is an American former professional ice hockey forward. Retired in 2012 for health reasons. Tom is the younger brother of former Columbus Blue JacketDan Fritsche who currently plays for the Zurich Lions of the Swiss National League A.

Playing career
Fritsche was drafted 47th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Colorado Avalanche. An Ohio native, Fritsche played collegiate hockey with hometown team, Ohio State University. After his final year with the Buckeyes, Fritsche made his professional debut at the end of the 2007–08
Fritsche was signed to a three-year entry level contract with the Avalanche on August 11, 2008.[1] In the 2008–09 season, Tom was assigned to Lake Erie. On January 27, 2009, he was suspended for 6 games after he left the bench during an altercation, to help Lake Erie's Goalie who was being beaten by Steve Downie of the Norfolk Admirals.[2] Fritsche was voted into the "25 best looking AHL players" in 2009 on an AHL fan site.
