"Tren de Amor" (Spanish for "Train of Love") is pop vocalist Jermaine Stewart's second and last single of 1989. The song is the album opener on his fourth album What Becomes a Legend Most. This single was the lead single from the album. "Tren de Amor" managed to peak into the UK top 100, reaching #97, and staying on the chart for three weeks.[1]

A promotional video was created for the single, with Stewart also performing the song on the German "Peters Pop Show". He also performed the song on the show Eurotops, where he wore the same outfit and hairstyle as in the single's artwork photography. A limited edition 7" vinyl single was also released which included an exclusive poster bag.[2]

The song was used in the soundtrack for the 1989 film She-Devil[3] which starred Meryl Streep, Roseanne Barr and Ed Begley, Jr.[4]

"Tren de Amor" was written by Stewart, Ian Curnow and Phil Harding. Both Curnow and Harding are well known as the production duo and also known for their involvement with Pete Waterman Entertainment.

The b-side for the single "When Sex Becomes a Religion" was exclusive to the single, written by Stewart, Arnold Hennings and Vince Lawrence.[5] Lawrence is a dance music producer, businessman and is one of the leading innovators of the genre of music called "House Music".[6]

For the single, various remixes of "Tren de Amor" were released along with the CD single track "Got To Be Love (The Cymone Mix)" which is a remix of a track from Stewart's 1987 album "Say It Again". The song was written by Stewart and André Cymone who also remixed this remix. Cymone was a former bandmate of Prince and also ex-husband of Jody Watley.
