Trevor McKay Reilly (born January 17, 1988) is an American football outside linebacker and special teamer for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Jets in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at Utah.

High School

A native of Valley Center, California, he attended Valley Center High School. He was named second-team all-CIF after recording 83 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, one fumble recovery and six sacks as a senior. He also played tight end, catching 24 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns. He totaled 131 tackles, 13 for loss, nine sacks and four fumble recoveries his junior season. His team won back-to-back CIF championships for division 18 against all girl schools. He also played basketball, volleyball, where he was named all-league. He was also a crucial member of the girls field hockey team and led them to a state championship. His team also won league volleyball championship his senior year.

Considered a two-star recruit by Rivals.com, he originally committed to Texas Tech.[1] However, while participating in an LDS mission, during a contract dispute between Mike Leach and the university, Reilly decided to look elsewhere.[2]

College career

During his tenure, he appeared in 48 games accumulating 235 total tackles, 37 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles and two interceptions. His senior season, he set career highs in tackles (100), tackles for loss (16) and sacks (8.5) that led him to being named an first-team All-Pac-12 selection. The Bleacher Report named Trevor Reilly a First Team All-American on December 3, 2013.[3]

He was drafted by the New York Jets in the seventh round (233rd overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.[4]

Personal

After graduating high school, Reilly served a two-year LDS mission in Sweden.[citation needed] His brother, Drew, currently plays football for BYU. Reilly said the diet that changed his life and career was called the Transform Diet according to the USA Today.[5] From April to June 2015, in order to learn more about New Jersey, where Metlife Stadium is located, Reilly became a licensed Uber driver.[6]
