WVAQ (101.9 FM, "102 WVAQ") is a rhythmic-leaning Contemporary Hit Radio formatted radio station licensed to Morgantown, West Virginia, broadcasting to the North-Central West Virginia area. WVAQ is owned and operated by West Virginia Radio Corporation.

The station broadcasts with an ERP of 50,000 watts, meaning you can hear WVAQ anywhere from Washington, Pennsylvania, to around Burnsville, West Virginia. The station broadcasts in HD.[1]

History

WVAQ was known as WAJR-FM (now at 103.3 FM) from the station's beginning in 1948 until 1977.

Awards and honors

WVAQ was chosen as the CHR/Top 40 station of 2007 and 2009 by the National Association of Broadcasters, earning a Marconi Award.
