Xuxa Dance is the sixth Spanish language album by Brazilian, singer, presenter and actress Xuxa. It was released in December 1996 by Polygram (now Universal Music). Xuxa Dance was the first teenager album directed to the Hispanic audience.[1]

Production

The album was recorded outside of Brazil, in the studios of Flamingo Café Recording Studio, Studio City, California, and has as producers Christian de Walden and Max di Carlo and co-production Walter Clissen. Had international distribution of Mercury Records (USA) and PolyGram (Latin America).[2][3]

The work is composed basically by compositions dance/electronic, a few ballads and a cover version of Ilarie which is nothing more than a remix with re-recorded vocals.

The album was released at the end of 1996 in Argentina, in November had reached the ninth place among the most sold in that country the following month occupied the third position, behind the Tango album Julio Iglesias and Tropimatch Sergio El Lobizón Del Oeste. In February 1997, the album had already won gold in Argentina, according to Billboard magazine.[5][6][7]

In Argentina, the album was released in Mexico shortly after, and the United States where he had a rebound a little better than its predecessor, El Pequeño Mundo, but not enough to become the album a hit.[8][9]

Promotion

Xuxa made a few trips to the release of the CD, in Argentina made two Pocket Shows in programs of Telefe television network: El Show en el Park and La Movida del Verano!.
