Dangerous Prototypes is the website of Where Labs, LLC, an open-source hardware company founded by Ian Lesnet in 2009, in Muscatine, Iowa. The company's mission is to release a new open-source project every month. Project images and diagrams, manuals, articles, and post text are licensed under CC-BY-SA. The firm is best known for its Bus Pirate board, a PIC-based universal serial interface for breadboarding and reverse-engineering of chips that communicate via the 1-Wire, I²C, SPI, JTAG, asynchronous serial (UART), MIDI, PC keyboard, and HD44780 LCDs, with the ability to support custom protocols.
