What steps did you take to create this 'sandbox'?

What steps did you use. I want to get them into the editors' guidelines, because this helps avoid stuff going in the article namespace until the article is ready. I would like to see if your words make it easier for people to understand than my words, as I started explaining this process a couple of days ago but it looked too complex. -- Crew (talk) 17:03, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

It looks like the web site was started in 2011 and there is a long list of projects and the Shenzhen hacker camps etc.
