Mohammad Nawaz (born 21 March 1994) is a Pakistani first-class cricketer who plays for National Bank of Pakistan.[1] He was selected in Pakistan's squad for the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 tournament.[2]
During the 2016 Pakistan Super League, he Played for Quetta Gladiators and was declared Man of the Match twice in the first four matches.[3] His performance in the initial phase of the PSL resulted in a call-up to Pakistan's 2016 ICC World Twenty20 squad.[4]
He made his Twenty20 International debut for Pakistan against the United Arab Emirates in the 2016 Asia Cup on 29 February 2016.[5] He was hit for 38 runs from 3 overs after being called to bowl by captain Shahid Afridi. Waqar Younis, the head coach, criticised Afridi for this and said that it was 'unfair' for him to call Nawaz up being relatively new and that it 'destroyed the youngster's confidence'.[6]
